Sustaining Our World

The school is active in attempting to make links between local and global issues. On 16th June 2010 the school hosted a coffee morning (in conjunction with the 'Lang Toon in June Festival') in which guests were invited to share their views about the use of plastic bags. Questionnaires were returned and a larger project is underway to gain a broader views of attitudes within the town itself. Traders will also be consulted. This project has been inspired by the Marine Conservation Society who are encouraging Plastic Bag Free Towns throughout the United Kingdom. An informative 10 minute film was shown demonstrating the impact of plastic on the marine environment. More details will be shared as this project develops.
